Valentine's Day

Hope it was great for everyone. See the pretty surprise I woke up to Valentine's Day morning? They are beautiful. It was a full day that is for sure. Got the kids ready for school. Valentine's packed, classroom treats packed and then dropped at school. Off to work for a full day. I don't even remember what lunch was! Wanted to be at the passport office hoping to avoid a huge line up. Got a parking ticket, but finally made it to the counter. Crossing my fingers that the ugly mug shots my family had taken at Costco would be good enough. Yikes, we seriously look like criminals!!!
Who ever gets happy civil servants? I got a lucky break because they were all so friendly so, by the time I made it out of there it was 10mins to 8:00pm and I am an hour away from home. By the time I made it in the door, I was starved and ready for the covers. Oh well. The passports are being processed and will be in the mail at the end of the month.

The Bro Is In The House!

Yep...correcto. My brother has come to town.

Only for a few days, he breezes in to town for work. Usually once a year. Teaches the kids some dirty language, we stay up late, drink a little too much and then he is gone. Back to his family and every day life. Over to quickly before we all really get to enjoy his stay.

Snow Day!

No school and no driving to work today!
Can you hear the squeals of joy at my house when the kids discovered that all the schools in our district were closed? Yep.. it was loud alright.
At least 8 inches maybe more is all over our lawn and driveway. The kids have had fun out side creating little snow creatures and a snow day is not a snow day without a snowman on your lawn!
Look we even made a Poppy snow cat! :-)

Hmmmm

The kids are sleeping.....I could watch a movie, have a glass of wine, admire our pretty Christmas Tree, relish the peace and quiet or steal down to my craft room and create something. Way too many choices but they are great choices!

Keeping Busy

The CONSTANT rain really starts to get to you living in Vancouver after a while. We can't really do anything outdoors and there does not look to be a break in the rain anytime soon. So....off to find things to do while the kids and I are on Christmas break.

Yesterday Brayden went to a friends house for a sleepover, movie and then swimming today. So given it was just the girls, Kaylin and I went to see the new Alvin and Chipmunks movie. It was cute and she liked it.

Today we did our weekly Michael's trip. My girl has turned crafty on me - suits me fine but boy is she crazy with the scissors! She cuts up everything and turns them into little tiny pieces of nothing but scraps left all over my house!!! Oh well. Could be worse I guess. Did I mention that we had to take her glue privledges away unless she is totally supervised by an adult? Don't even ask why! :-) Ahh to be 6 and carefree!!!!!!

The Valentine's stuff is now in full display there. Heck, New Year's hasn't even arrived and we are working on Valentine projects! Lots of cute things to make. Below is today's project that she created with only a little help at the end from me. Kept her busy and of course there is glitter and gems on it. That's my girl!
