Happy Easter

The Bunny arrived at our house this morning and the kids had a great time with all the surprises he left. The weather finally brightened up later this afternoon and the kids went out to the back yard for the egg hunt.
Kaylin had the most fun of all and ran around the backyard like a crazed 6 year old all pumped up on Chocolate and Sugar! Oh wait she was all pumped up on chocolate and sugar!!!!!!

Happy Easter To You!

No Maple Syrup Required

Had to share....can there be anything better for breakfast than french toast made with Bananas and Nutella?

It was yummy! Not something that we would eat all the time but hey, it is Easter Morning and what is a little more chocolate anyways!

Good Friday Love Cat

Been a little while since I posted a photo of Poppy - The Love Cat.
Here she is with her favourite guy after just waking up from a peaceful little nap on his bed earlier this afternoon.
She doesn't look all that happy but trust me she loves this guy dearly. Here is another of her giving Brayden some love. After this little photo shoot she promptly went back to bed!
Hey Lujza...see anything familiar??? :-)

In Search of the Perfect Goulash!

Okay....as I type this my kitchen is filled with a wonderful aroma of my simmering goulash. I am on a quest. Find the perfect Goulash recipe. One that is not too spicy but just plain yummy and that the whole family enjoys.

The prototype simmering away right now has stewing beef, lots of onions that have been browned in a little oil and butter, red peppers, and lots of paprika. To this mixture, I have also added about 2 1/2 cups of chicken stock and a whole tomato (and a little one) just for flavouring. I will take them out when the meat has become tender. All this cooks covered for about two hours and then I will take the lid off and let the moisture evaporate until the sauce gets nice and thick. Did I mention that there is pepper/salt and 2 kinds of paprika? Hungarian hot and a Spanish one too.

Verdict?

It was good. Nice, spicy and yummy! I served it with buttered Gnooci (I know, wrong country but I like them) or rice.

The bowls came back empty and looking for seconds. Definitely to be made again.

The Twins!

I love these photos.
The twins were by for a quick visit with their grandparents, our buddies Linda and Andrew and then they were off to get fitted for glasses.
The kids loved having them visit especially Brayden who just loves looking after Katelon.

My Guy

Just me and my guy on Saturday after his soccer game. We had to work on a project for school so we took a bunch of photos and had a milkshake.
Fun just the two of us and that shake was yum!!!
